Find a Clinical Location. Donate Now. Our specialty is the health of Texas. This eight-week program is designed to give teachers and students an opportunity to work side by side with a faculty host in a research laboratory.

Participants are paid a stipend and are required to present the results of their research at the end of the summer. Applications are available from December 1 to February 1. Through participation in the Summer Research Program, teachers not only learn new techniques, but also rekindle their interest in science, which positively affects their students. The program is a full time commitment that runs for eight weeks from Monday, June 3 through Friday, July 26, Applicants must be at least 16 years old by June 1, , be currently classified as a current junior, and be enrolled in high school. Our specialty is the health of Texas. The Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program HPREP is an academically challenging enrichment program that offers minority and underrepresented high school students a glimpse of education and career opportunities in health care professions.

Taught by medical, graduate, and allied health students, faculty, and staff from diverse cultural backgrounds, HPREP helps high school students to understand the level of commitment needed to pursue a future in science and medicine. Developed in to improve the quality of science education in North Central Texas, STARS Science Teacher Access to Resources at Southwestern provides opportunities for middle and high school teachers and students to expand science awareness and develop a greater appreciation for science-related careers.
