How about the time and effort put into programming it? How about the time put into making a new patch for the program so that the latest games and game modifications can be played through it quickly and easily? Don't they deserve the chance to make a living off their programming? I've been using it for about a month now, with no problems.

I intend to register it as soon as I can, since I think it's the best thing out there for server browsing. You can use it for ever and ever for free, but if you pay and register it, you get some additional features that make the program more useful, like chatrooms, etc for GameSpy, and buddy lists and other features for ASE, that don't cripple the application in their absence. Also, don't think that it's just some lame front-end like Kali is.

It's wonderful for camping on the Ars server on full nights, so that I get in when the first public spot opens up. I'm well aware of what it means to be a struggling programmer. I said, "this kind of software" rather than "this program" for a reason - I am shocked to find that there is no freeware program like GS3D and ASE available. Given the free software out there already, I don't understand why no one has begun a freeware game-finding proggy. This is good to hear, but it's still "wrong" not to register after the day trial or however long it is.

And as per my first bulleted point above, I'd rather not use the program illegally if there are other methods available, and yet, I'm not inclined to pay money for a program that helps me play games I already own.

Like i said before, the only downside is its boring interface. Now if people can make a program almost exactly the same as gamespy and have it run better than gamespy, doesn't that tell you something? Here's an example - Rich's Whip Topping is made from the soy bean and is a non-dairy product. People have criticized the topping as being a cream imitation while Rich's claimed it is a replacement and not an imitation. Rich's won 41 court cases to prove that point.

The All-Seeing Eye is not an imitation Gamespy, it is in fact a Gamespy replacement that is better, more reliable and if it were a topping, it probably would taste better.

That probably had no significance but I think I would take a Gamespy replacement that runs better than to use Gamespy ever again. You can't. The author refuses to release a standalone installer, even though he's had numerous requests for one.

I've never had any problems with Gamespy 3D. I've tried out All Seeing Eye for a couple of days, but I didn't really like the feel of it. I know I should give it a while, but I'm not that much into 3rd party connection programs anymore.
